Immediate crash when Adding new page or pages

I'm up to page 190 ish of a book layout and another 20 or so to go. Latest Mac and AP versions.

Previous version of file is OK but I am laying out to new page format and cut and pasting from the old version.

Using GL, no Metal, restarted, new download of AP.....many times. Even tried OnyX!

Deleted Masters. Made all graphics Linked do file only about 5MB

I know one bug like this has been fixed for 2.6 already, it might be worth downloading the 2.6 beta and trying it in that to see if it will fix the problem. Warning: Files saved from 2.6 cannot be opened in 2.5.7 so you must back up your document before trying this. 2.6 is still in beta so the usual warnings apply, please see Serif's post before moving your work to a beta version.

Other than that, I think we'd need to see the document to figure this out. Could you at least share a screen recording showing the issue happening?

It seems to be a bit of a rogue document Mike. I've uploaded... its a version with liknd files so fairly small.

As a temporary workaround I have created a new document that most things seem to work in. I've added 200+ blank pages and

tomorrow will cut and paste the text 2 pages at a time to retain layout formatting.

This would be a good document for Serif to review because it can be opened in 2.5.7 but not in 2.6.0 beta 2984.

• Open in 2.5.7 - yes
• Open in 2.6.0 beta 2984 - immediate crash
• Add Pages from File in 2.5.7 - dialog displays, crashes after clicking OK and then OK in the font dialog
• Add Pages from File in 2.6.0 beta 2984 - immediate crash, does not display dialog

Document Setup shows that the document starts on the right but it actually starts on the left. Double-clicking spread 1-2 in the Pages panel displays spread 3-4, double-clicking spread 3-4 displays spread 5-6, etc.

Using Document Setup to start it on the left or to change it to non-facing pages will crash. Adding or deleting a spread will crash.

Here's a version of the document with no text or objects, just pages, and it crashes in exactly the same way. But this should make it easier to test with.

Crash on open is a concern for the ongoing beta and could be related to the advanced page management features, I've now logged this file with the developers for further investigation.

The issue "User file- Crash on add/removal of pages and crash on open in 2.6 beta" (REF: AF-5630) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.3078). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
