DianeF Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I would like to put a frame around a photo. I did an Internet search and discovered that Affinity Photo has a frame tool. But I've been unable to find this. I went to Customize Tools and looked for it there with no success. Can someone tell me where I can find this tool? Thanks Quote Affinity Photo, V 2.5.3 Affinity Designer, V 5.3 Affinity Publisher, V 5.3 Mac Book Air, Sonoma, 14.5

GaryLearnTech Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Hi @DianeF I think it maybe depends on what you mean by frame. A simple frame can be added easily by adding an Outline from the Layer Effects collection. In the example below, I've added a single purple frame to the background layer. You can create multiple nested outlines with different radii to create more complex effects. You might also experiment with the Bevel/Emboss or 3D effects. NB if you try this and it doesn't initially seem to work, check that you've set it to be displayed inside the image (Alignment: Inside) instead of outside the boundary of your image. Check also that the radius is large enough. If you mean something more ornate, such as a physical frame, then you may have to search further afield for downloadable frame kits. For example https://www.google.com/search?newwindow=1&rls=en&q=free+picture+frames+PNG&biw=1440&bih=2032 You'd find something you liked and open it as a layer above your own photo. DianeF Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Thanks for the comments on how to make a frame. I went back and looked at the first video that showed how to add a frame but it was for Publisher. I also saw that the information generated by Google in response to my query was generated by AI and was incorrect. After more searching I found a YouTube video showing an easy way to make a frame using the Crop Tool and the Rectangle Tool. Here is the link in case anyone else needs to do this: There are other similar videos as well. This enabled me to do what I needed to do with my image. As always, this forum is very helpful.
