Feature Request: Direct Selection in Affinity Designer.

This tool gives the user the ability to select a single or multiple objects within a clipping mask or a group. It can be a real time saver by bypassing the need to ungroup or unmask objects.

On the Mac, when using the move tool, you can do this by command-clicking on the object you want to select.  I'm not sure what the Windows key equivalent is offhand, but I do see that this is missing from the help bar across the bottom of the window, so perhaps it should be added?

Click with Shift.

Unfortunately, this is different than when selecting items in the Layers panel, where individual items are selected with Ctrl, and Shift selects from/to.

Right answer to the wrong question. OP is looking to bypass groups, not to select multiple.

That could work, though at least on the Mac, you can bypass it with a modifier key and don't need to touch that.

For windows it's ctrl+click to select an object on the canvas within a group.
It's ctrl+shift+click to select multiple objects on the canvas within a group.
If you first ctrl+click an object within the group on the canvas and then just click another it will select it without the modifier.
