ni.dsgn Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I've been using the Distress Press macros without a hitch until today, my pc froze and after I restarted and tried to import it back in the error 'Unexpected Macros Format - Failed to load file etc etc' Is there a way to fix this so it's reusable again? Edit : Also remove and reinstalled, still cant use the macro Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Welcome to the Affinity forums. Your .afmacros file works for me, so if you've quoted the error message accurately, and you're trying to import into the Library panel, then perhaps the problem is that your Photo internal data files have been corrupted. If so, you will need to reset the application, and reinstall any macros that you've added or changed, as you'll have only the default macro categories and content after the reset. You can start the application while holding the Ctrl key. Release the key after you get the Clear User Data dialog. In that dialog, uncheck any option that is checked by default, and then check the option to Reset Macros (I'm away from the PC, so that name is only approximate). Click Clear, and try importing that file Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. R C-R Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Are the Distress Press macros available in some way other than through purchasing the distress effects kit from True Grit? If not, should they be included in an attachment here? From what I can tell from https://www.truegrittexturesupply.com/pages/terms-and-conditions sharing is not allowed, which I think although not explicitly mentioned would include macros as a type of actions.... Yeah, I'm gonna take it down for now and only share to whoever wishes to help hope that is okay. Quote

Technically, I think you should only share it with Serif staff.
