Variable Font Italic Issu

Hi! I'm font designer. Italic axes of variable fonts do not work in Affinity 2.5.7 version. While all features of the font work in the font design program, they do not work in Affinity.

Hi @Nebuldu and welcome to the forums. I've tested other fonts with a Slant axis and they work fine in Affinity so it's possibly something to do with the way the font is constructed. Are you able to share the font or a partial version of it here for testing?

Have you tested the slant axis in other software, too?

Hi! I tested the font with Affinity 2.6 beta and it worked. I think 2.5.7 version has an issue.

This sounds like a known bug in the current Retail version of the apps logged under AF-5244 affecting a number of different variable fonts on both Windows and Mac...

A good example is Geologica a variable Google Font...

On Windows, when the Cursive Slider is set to any value below 0.7, the Slant slider has no effect at all, on Mac you can't physically set the Cursive slider to any value below 0.7 and when set to a value less than 0.7 you can't physically adjust the Slant slider at all...
