Hi @Khertens,

  1. Is this with any file or a specific file?
  2. Are you able to upload the file so we can take a look?

Could you also provide some additional information as described in this post...

UPDATE: I have narrowed the issue to the numbered list in the grid layer. The grid layer is a table with a numbered list. I noticed that when I manually deleted the numbers (leaving empty cells), I could export to PDF, but as soon as I readded the numbers, exporting to PDF crashed the program back to the desktop.  Any help would be appreciated as this started happening with the latest beta

I have narrowed the problem to the grid layer in the attached file. However, when I try to export the file to PDF with it on Affinity Publisher Beta, it crashes. I don't know how to fix it.

Hi @Khertens,

Thanks for the file...

A general aside which isn't relevant to the crash... you're file is set using an RGB/16 colour space which isn't necessary, you can change it to RGB/8.

I'm assuming you see the crash when exporting using the PDF (digital - small size), PDF (digital - high quality) or PDF (for export) presets? If so, the issue is caused by those three presets having Tagged PDF selected in the PDF export settings or adding Tagged PDF to a preset that doesn't include it by default...

Try the following:

  1. Create a new blank Publisher document
  2. Go to File Export
  3. Select the PDF Preset you're currently using to export, e.g., PDF (digital - high quality)
  4. Uncheck Tagged PDF in the Advanced section
  5. From the hamburger menu to the right of the Preset dropdown in the File Settings section choose Create Preset and give it a name
  6. Export your blank document using the newly created preset
  7. Open your January 2025-d.afpub file
  8. Export your file using the newly created preset

When exporting your file the Export settings should default to your custom preset allowing you to export your file...

I've tested on Windows and Mac and the above steps allow your file to be exported without Publisher crashing...

This sounds very much like a known bug logged under AF-5086, however, the bug was shown as fixed in the 2.6.0.2900 Beta so this may be a regression in the current Beta...
