Sukavi Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Not sure what is going on here. I noticed some text in one frame at 18pt and changed paragraph style on its own. So when I change it back the text in the connected frame changes size. When I try to select it all other text changes. I can't figure out what's going on here. I can't get it to format using the styles or even changing font size. Any one have any ideas? Quote
MikeTO Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 The content in the left left frame is scaled - we can see that because in the first screenshot, the outer bottom-right handle is solid blue. That is the content scaling handle and dragging it scales the frame as well as the content inside it, while dragging the inner handle (a regular size handle) scales only the frame. This handle is a useful feature for an individual frame, but linking a content-scaled frame to a non-content-scaled frame is the source of much confusion. To fix this, double-click the solid blue content scaling handle to restore the frame so that the content is scaled to 100%. Then reapply styles or formats as necessary. Considering how much confusion this causes, I think it might be slightly better if that handle turned red & increased in size to better show that it had been used. BTW, for some weird reason double-clicking the blue handle does not reset the frame to the original text scale for me in one page of one of my APub files, even though in the History panel it says "Reset Frame Text Scale." It works as expected on other pages in the same document & in other APub files I tested with. Attached is a simplified version of that page, stripped of its master & everything except that text frame. I try dragging on that handle & then double-clicking it but nothing happens. Won't reset.afpub Is there something obvious I have overlooked? That is odd and you're not missing anything, but it works perfectly in the 2.6 beta so it was likely fixed as part of this bug: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AF-4290 R C-R 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
Sukavi Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 Than you, MikeTO. I could not figure that out. Didn't even notice the second handle on the text frame. Quote

It seems to be a very selective bug.... If (in AfPub 2.5.6) I create a shape and then convert it to Shape Text, it has the same problem - double clicking the blue dot does nothing. I'm not in the beta programme - @MikeTO could you check whether AF-4290 fixes it for Shape Text? Phil MikeTO 1 Quote
