GarryP Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Just something I did for fun when an idea popped into my head, not for a real thing. If I asked you what this was about and you answered “I’m sorry, I haven’t a clue” then you’d be on the right track. Images from Gratisography, Transport For London, and Wikipedia. markw Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Inspired! Love it! Never thought of doing it as a board game before though? Would be easier than having to visualise the whole of London in your mind! Kasper-V Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 For anyone new to MC, there's a handy instruction book, The Little Book of Mornington Crescent by Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Barry Cryer, still in print. I read a friend's copy and I look at it in a wholly different way now. Mostly from behind the sofa ... Alfred, GarryP and markw 1 2 Quote
Solly Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 What a great take on all such games I have stashed around the house! 🤣 GarryP 1 Quote Solly JFSJ N3MKH
GarryP Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 It’s nice to hear that some people like it, thanks to all. I can’t remember why the idea popped into my head as something to try but the question of what it might look like was something I wanted to explore a little bit. Anyone interested in this might also be interested in: https://kevan.org/games/chancery (I also wondered what a Mornington Crescent Escape Room might look like but that’s probably too harrowing to imagine fully.) Twolane Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Where's the "Get out of gaol FREE" card? Quote MacBook M3 Pro 18/512 - Now my daily driver. 2xDell laptops on Win 11 frozen at 23H2 - With 2 & 4 hours of battery life, they're already dead to me.
dannyg9 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 From the U.S. and not familiar with Mornington Crescent. LOVE the character falling in the manhole. All that said, beautiful work. Publisher and Designer for the win! GarryP 1 Quote

There’s no way to get out of jail early in this game, you’ve got to serve your full term which often lasts longer than the game itself. My brother is still in there from the last time we played and that was back in March. It’s a bit like a ‘home counties’ version of Jumanji, but without the animals and with more tea, scones and tutting at the neighbours. DelN and PaulEC 2 Quote
Ldina Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I liked 264 pages of rules and 16 variants, and the wild-haired photo to give it extra emphasis!
