How to clip only part of an object into a circle

Please see my sample file

the lower part of the guitar should be invisible like in the sample

the top of the guitar neck should stick out of the circle

Duplicate the Guitar and move to the bottom of the layer stack
Add a rectangle to cover the part of the guitar you want to show (the top part)
Then drag that rectangle over the thumbnail of the duplicated guitar layer

Another method could be to do something like what I do in my attached video.

By doing this you don’t have a duplicated image but, because you can’t have something that is both outside and inside something else at the same time, you will normally need an extra layer at some point to simulate satisfying both situations.
