MikeTO Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 @iiiGerardoiii This happens throughout the Affinity suite and I know we've talked about it here before but I don't know if it's considered a bug or by design. You'll find the same thing happens with dialogs such as the Resource Manager and the file Open dialog. You can even print the active document while the file Open dialog is on top. Normally on Mac and Windows, using a keyboard shortcut in a dialog box will not affect the active document window behind the dialog and instead beeps at you if you press a shortcut not handled by the dialog. Affinity's non-modal dialogs don't beep for shortcuts they don't handle and instead allow the shortcut events to be passed through to the window behind the dialog. If Affinity is going to keep allowing us to act on the active document with a non-modal dialog on top, it would be nice if all the non-modal dialogs could at least handle Cmd+W. Like you, I've closed my documents many times by mistake due to this issue.
