Hi all, relatively new user of Affinity Publisher here - I have a 120 page visual book and wanted to insert a page near the start to add some artwork, however when doing so it ruins the formatting of much of the following pages, moving text, images and graphics components all over the place. I insert the page using 'Add Pages' function to add 1 page after the page number I want and ensuring to select master page A.

Anyone know if there is a way to insert a new page without screwing the entire document? Thanks!

Have you ever tried adding two pages?

MAC mini M4 | MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2 | 16 GB RAM | 256 GB SSD
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB  | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.3476)

Affinity Suite V 2.6.1  & Beta 2.6 (latest)

I already had a halo, but it didn't suit me!

Publisher 2.5 and earlier aren't great at adding, moving, and deleting single pages with facing-page spreads for documents like yours. It will be much improved in the upcoming version 2.6. Until then, the best recommendation is to add an entire facing-page spread.

If you have to add a single page, you could try reapplying the master page to the following spreads but it may or may not solve the issue.

Good luck

That works yes, but would then need to manually move each page backwards one with copy & paste which would take forever, or is there an easier way to do this?

Would it be possible to get it to work on the 2.6 beta? (Assuming I can somehow get access to it).

Here's how to join the beta. But back up your work first since 2.6 documents can't be opened in 2.5. Note that this message says the latest beta is 2.5.5 but it's really 2.6.0 so just ignore that part.

We are always warned about the risk of saving our production work from a beta but the warning is stronger this time because of the nature of the changes.

You should take particular care to work on backups of your existing documents when trying them out in this new beta in case there are bugs or oversights converting from the 2.5 file structure to the new 2.6 data structures. Once a file has been saved in any 2.6 build that file cannot be read in the release version 2.5.5
