Wolfgang D. Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Since switching to a new computer (PC Ryzen 7 7700, 64 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX4060TI 16 GB, NViDIA Studio drivers 566.36, 2 TB M.2 SSD, Windows Pro 24H2) there have been no more crashes, even with OpenCL activated. Now, however, I suddenly have the problem on one project file that one or more empty squares appear in the image when exporting to JPG or PNG. If I switch off OpenCL, the problem disappears. I enclose a screenshot. Quote
GarryP Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Unless I’m mistaken, this is a known problem when the Affinity applications try to use some graphics cards. For example, see: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/223432-unintended-glitches-of-black-or-white-vertical-lines-are-layered-on-the-image-rendering-result/ Switching Hardware Acceleration to OFF, or changing some other Performance setting(s), as you have found, usually fixes things. Wolfgang D. Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 I have investigated the matter further. I only have this problem when I use the attached self-created effect macro. The problem does not occur with all other projects, some of which have considerably more layers. Without OpenCL, Affinity Photo unfortunately works noticeably slower, even on my computer, which is not exactly weak. It's annoying when you have to change the settings over and over again.
