Hello,

we are using Affinity Publisher for our PDF-Workbook.
While working on this, we found out that the elements in affinity are displayed differently on our computers.
Note: We are using PC-monitors with the same resolution.

Example:
The position of these colored rectangles is different on the computers, and also the text field needs more space on the other computer. That's why the spaces are not matching. If I export the PDF file, it's different too on the two computers.

For the problem prior to exporting to PDF, it looks like the two machines might have different fonts installed (maybe with some font substitution), or different versions of the fonts.

If you use a document on more than one machine then each machine must have installed the same fonts (and font versions) that are used in the document.

That problem could also be the reason (or part of the reason) why the exported PDF looks different.

There are probably various applications that will do that for you but you can:

  1. Go to File Explorer;
  2. Explore to “C:\Windows\Fonts”;
  3. Right click any font and choose “Preview” from the context menu;
  4. Look at the version number and type information at the top-left corner of the window that popped up.

You can then check those details against another font on the same machine or a different machine.

Can you tell me how I can tell if the fonts are the same? Is there a tool to check this?

It might be easier to use the Package function when working on a file with different machines. That will automatically ensure that the fonts are the same.
