Ante-scriptum: Google-fu and AP-search-fu dutifully done. Didn't find this topic. Setting is Windows 10 Home, Affinity Photo Version 2.5.7. (but applicable since 2.0)

Affinity Photo 2 added an excellent recent files window fetched with the "Shift+O" (in Windows) keyboard shortcut (specifically a tab on the Accounts window).

Thank you! Much better than just the "Open Recent" choice on the File menu, as it provides very useful thumbnails of the recent images, which are valuable beyond just being able to recognize which image you want with a glance. Indeed, for example, that window is excellent for verifying the visual cohesiveness of a group of images.

However, excluding an error on my part, it will only display images in their most recently opened order.

--> This window would be made all the more useful if it offered other organizational choices. This could take the form of a simple drop-down menu offering, at the absolute least, "Date taken" (in particular), "Date modified" and the current "Most recently opened" (not the same thing as "date modified"). But other choices would be good as well, for example, "Type," "Author," "File name," "Ratio" (shortest to largest image width), and I'm sure there are others (a weird one I'd love to see is "Random"). Of course, a first click gives a chronological/alphabetical/whatever result and a second a reverse-chronological/alphabetical/whatever result, as such menus always do.

--> Also, different display choices would also be advantageous. The immediate two jumping to mind are the ability to change the size of the thumbnails and the ability to toggle the display of the file name on and off. It would also be good if its background color could be modified, as is possible with the background in the main window.

Thanks for your consideration and happy shooting to all.
