Blenderik Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Hi I want to display the Chapter name on the top and the section name on the bottom of my page. Chapter name: fine and dandy, inserted <Running Header>, assigned a Style to it, nice. But the section names apparently I have to create manually? I have about 300 of them, not an option. So let's say I have Chapter 1 (Style: chapter heading) Subsection 1 (Style: Subsection heading) Subsection 2 (Style: Subsection heading) and I want the footer to work just like the running header but for the Subsection heading, how do I do that? Blenderik Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) I figured out that you can just insert a 2. Running header, select it and the Fields Settings will apply to the selected one. It might be nice to state that, or make an overview, like you do for sections. One question remains: Can I rename the 2. running header? They both say <Running Header> which might be confusing in the future (once I forget which is supposed to do what) Edited December 13, 2024 by Blenderik Quote

No, there is no way to do that. You can click before or after a Running Header variable and then click the More (...) button to the right of Running Header in the Fields panel to see its settings, but that is all you can do. Blenderik Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Seems like an important thing to do, but I only have 2 headers, so I'll take it. I meant both the displayed name on the master page and the name that is displayed when you edit the header. All 4 are <Running Header> Thank you. Quote

If they're in different text frames or art text objects, you could name the layers to differentiate them.
