Application - Affinity Photo 2.5.6

Can I reproduce - Yes

New document - Yes, it occurs in all the new documents I've created. See recordings below.

MacOS Ventura 13.7.1

MacBook Pro 2019 i9 2.4ghz with AMD 5600M 32GB

Hardware acceleration is ON

Issue:

- When painting on a pixel layer that is within a group of pixel layers the screen redraw glitches when using the trackpad or mouse.

- When painting on a pixel layer that is NOT within a group there is generally never a glitch using the trackpad or mouse.

Experience with XP Pen Artist 24 2.5k drawing display:

- When painting on a pixel layer within a group using a DAUB oil brush with sub-brush (or similar), there is brush lag and/or screen redraw issues.

- When painting on a pixel layer that is NOT within a group there is no painting issue nor screen redraw issue with any brush. NOTE: If I move this layer into a group of pixel layers and continue to paint on it the painting experience continues to be flawless.

As I work primarily with the XP Pen display I can work around the issue by simply always beginning drawing/painting on a layer that is not within a group and then move it into a group later.

Both videos here were using the trackpad and mouse on the MacBook Pro screen without the XP Pen display connected.

I keep hardware acceleration ON as it allows me to use brushes with sub-brushes.
