starr Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Publisher is crashing immediately when I try to open an .afpub file. I created the file on another computer, and that copy of publisher has no problem opening it. I'm attaching the crash log, as well as the problem file. letter_test.afpub crash-report.txt Quote
MikeTO Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Hi @starr and welcome to the forums. I can open your document without issues because I don't have the stationery.afdesign file. I suggest renaming that file, opening the document, and ignoring the opportunity to relink the file. Then delete the stationery object from the two pages it is used on and place it again. It should be fine after doing this. You shouldn't have to do this, but it does seem to happen every so often and we don't know why. starr Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Thanks for the reply. I found the problem and in this case it was something else. I had accidentally left in some text using the LiebHeidi Fineliner font. It worked on the original computer because I had that font installed. However, the computer which was crashing didn't have the Fineliner version of that font. I think it must have fallen back to the base LiebHeidi font, which always makes Publisher crash. Switching that text to a sane font fixed the issue. Quote
