Ushur Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Actually there is 2.5.5 installed on my computer. Until now there was an updatemessage with an update-button if there was a new version. Now i got an updatemessage with a download-button. Why are there no more automatic updates for me? Is that a problem with my computer or is this a general problem? Quote
GarryP Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 In-app updating is only available in the MSIX installations, not the MSI/EXE installations where you need to download new versions. Which are you using? Quote
Ushur Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 Okay I am not sure. It's a new computer. Perhaps I installed the wrong version. Quote
GarryP Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Use menu “Help → My Account” and look at the top-right of the dialog. Where it says “ID:”, if that ID starts with “release2-” then it’s a retail MSIX installation, whereas if it starts “release2nsb-” then it’s a retail MSI/EXE installation. Quote
AndyV Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 what if the ID doesn't say either of those? Mine just starts (and ends) with random numbers and letters. Quote

I think that means that you are using a beta release (it might have the word “beta” somewhere in the ID) but I can’t be certain. If that’s true then you should have either “beta2-” or “beta2nsb-” near the end of the ID, same rules apply as above. Quote
