App: Affinity apps version 2.5.6 (including Designer, Photo, Publisher)

Description: There is an issue with the export dialog and the 'Area' option (Selection Area or Selection Only). When exporting an image that exceeds the page bounds using the 'Selection Area' or 'Selection Only' options to raster formats like JPG, PNG, WebP, and JPEG XL, the preview displays the areas outside the page bounds as a white area and the image fails to display correctly. However, this issue does not occur when exporting to PDF or SVG formats.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Affinity Photo, Publisher, or Designer version 2.5.6.
  2. Create a new page.
  3. Place an image on the page that is larger than the page bounds.
  4. Select the image.
  5. Go to the export dialog.
  6. Under 'Area', choose 'Selection Area'.
  7. Observe the preview in the export dialog.

Expected Result: The selected image should display correctly in the preview and be exported to raster formats like JPG, PNG, WebP, and JPEG XL without any white areas.

Actual Result: Areas outside the page bounds are displayed as white areas, and the image fails to display correctly in the preview when exporting to raster formats. However, exporting to PDF or SVG works correctly.

Additional Information

  • The 'Selection Area' option is meant to export currently selected layer content with other (deselected) layers.
  • The 'Selection Only' option is intended to export currently selected layer content without other (deselected) layers.
