I'm trying to colour grade a photo using the colours from another.

My problem is that once I've created colour swatches from a 'donor' image I am unable to pick the colours from it to insert into the gradient map of the recipient image.

When I select (say) the shadow (red) end in the gradient map window and then the red colour box beneath, the HSL colour wheel appears as expected.

I then click the eye dropper tool in the colour wheel palette and drag it across to the swatches panel but it does not pick up the colour in the swatch. The small colour indicator next to the eye dropper tool in the swatches panel changes to white, regardless of whatever colour it was before.

The method works when using AP1 but it doesn't with AP2 and doesn't appear to be resolved in the beta version of AP2. I have a workaround so it's not a desperate problem but it does add an extra step or two.

I'm currently using iOS 12.7.6

Don't do that. Use Swatches in the Gradient Map dialog. Here I have my Global Colours palette, I doubt that using Global Colours makes any difference.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi Old Bruce,

Brilliant, thanks for that it works a treat including with V2 beta. This has been bothering me for sometime but I would never have come up with that solution.
