If a Hyperlink includes additional spaces at the end of the URL on either the Page, in the Hyperlink Properties panel or both, exporting to PDF using the following PDF presets causes Publisher 2.5.6 to crash.

  • PDF (for export)
  • PDF (flatten)
  • PDF (digital small)
  • PDF (digital - high quality)

In the 2.6.0.2900 Beta, the same PDF presets don't cause Publisher to crash but instead generate a PDF file which can't be opened, displaying the following error.

The same behaviour is exhibited on both Mac and Windows...

The issue "Additional Spaces at the End of Hyperlinks Cause Publisher to Crash or Generate an Error when exporting books to PDF with hyperlinks" (REF: AF-5220) has been fixed by the developers in the latest beta build (2.6.0.2984). The fix is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
