Hello and good day,

I'm having a time on how to get a layer after having parts removed to match the current document size. I know that this is a bit of an unusual thing since most of the time you want the default behavior which is to have the new modified content be smaller than image size. However I would like to find out how to get a particular layer to match the current image size in order for a plugin I'm messing around with to work as it should.

It could be that that plug in doesn't work well with Affinity, but I would just like to see if it would work and both layers do need to be the same size.

The plugin that I'm messing with is GMIC and the exact filter is found under the layers menu and I believe the one specifically is called Blend (Seamless).

From the little research I've done on the internet, the plugin requires both layers to be of the same dimensions in order for it to function correctly and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get AP to do this.

I can change the whole document dimensions but not just a layers.

Thank you for your time and any direction you can point me to.

I don’t use plug-ins so I can’t help with that, but have you tried simply resizing one layer so it’s the same size as the other one?

In other words, dragging the top-left corner handle of one to match the top-left of the other, and then doing the same for the bottom-right handle.

If that doesn’t work then a full-screen screenshot (whole application UI) where we can see the Layers Panel open with one of the layers selected might help us to see what you can see and advise further.

Thank you for your suggestion GarryP. If I get another moment today, I will attempt to post a screenshot of what I wish to accomplish. However, just dragging the handles will not do what I need because it will cause the part of the image that I have masked/erased out to grow with the movement of the handles which is unwanted.

I guess the best visual I have for you to maybe ponder this further and it is actually a tutorial video on the internet concerning this plugin is a face swap. Imagine having the image you want the face to end up as the bottom layer and the top layer is one that you import into the program, resize to fit the target and erase/mask out the rest of what you don't need.

When you do this in a lot of programs, that layer goes to whatever the final object size is but in order for the filter to work correctly, both of the layers (background and the donor face in this case) need to be the same dimensions or this will not work.

Hense why I asked if AP can make the layer the same as the base layer and not to whatever the cropped/masked object is.

Again I know that this filter and the whole program (GMIC) is not well used outside of GIMP but I was wondering if I could get it to work.

Thank you again!
