Yves Michel Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I'll try to recompose this experience: I run Affinity Photo 2.5.5 An update is proposed to 2.5.6 I download the msi version of the installer I close 2.5.5 and run the installer I'm left with 2 versions of Photo, the 2.5.6 impossible to find (but booting with a link), the 2.5.5 still present I use IObit uninstaller to get rid of every trace of Photo I download the exe version of the installer and run it Everything normal with the Photo app under its normal path: c:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo 2 Strange, mysterious behaviour! GarryP Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 It sounds like you now have one MSIX version and one MSI/EXE version installed. I can’t tell from your description which is which. (Updating the MSIX version can be done via the application without manually downloading.) See here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/180014-how-do-i-download-affinity-v2-windows-msiexe-un-sandboxed-versions/ If this is true then you will need to decide which one to keep (and maybe upgrade) and which one to uninstall. Yves Michel Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Thanks Gary, The MSIX version is already fully deleted. I just want an explanation of this curious "update". Quote
Yves Michel Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 Hi Gary, I went to the web address you mentioned and found the explanations. Thanks again! Quote
