3dscanstl Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Every time I try using Open > Recent > More, the application freezes. It does not matter if I select only one file or multiple files. It is consistent, and crashes every time. It does not matter what kind of file I try to open. I only started using this application a few weeks ago and this has always happened. Staff NathanC Posted December 17, 2024 Staff Posted December 17, 2024 Welcome to the forums @3dscanstl & apologies for the late reply, This isn't an issue I'm able to replicate using the Recent documents dialogue; it's potentially related to local environmental differences. From the recordings attached the files the app's attempting to recall is on the E:\ drive, is this an external location, such as a network drive or external/USB drive and is the location still available? If you clear the recent list and then load an image stored locally on C:, close it and then load it from the recent dialogue, does this open as expected? Thanks Quote
3dscanstl Posted December 17, 2024 Author Posted December 17, 2024 Hello, E:/ is an internal SSD. I don't keep data on C:/. This is the OS and programs only drive. E:/ is the drive I use for all of my graphics work for my business. So, after doing some more testing, I have narrowed down the issue. I can open recent files using the 'more' menu if the image was opened using the File > Open command or Ctrl+O from any of my local drives. But if I drag & drop images into the workspace and then try to reopen them later using 'more', the program hangs and the process ends. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted December 17, 2024 Staff Posted December 17, 2024 Thanks for your reply and confirmation. Could you possibly provide a screen recording showing this from scratch with an empty 'Recents' menu? I've tried from a few local locations when opening via the Drag & Drop method, but I'm not encountering the freeze when recalling the doc. Also, does it matter about the specific file? For example, if you create a new empty .afphoto file -> Save the file -> Clear the recents menu -> drag & drop into app -> Close -> Open from Recents does this cause a hang? Quote
