Evaluation complete. Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 When editing text on an external screen - non-duplicated - using the latest iPadOS (version 18 newest) and 2.6 build 2900 on an iPad Pro, the controls for inserting breaks and soft hyphens from the small floating keyboard control are utterly unusable. Typically, I can initially activate the bar for inserting these elements from the small floating control. However, I cannot close it again. On the iPad screen, I see ABC and copy-paste-cut icons in the bar itself, but these are absent on the external screen. When I move Publisher to the iPad screen, these controls become usable, and I can close the “Insert Fields” bar. However, when I close it and move Publisher back to the external screen, things become worse. From this point, the text control bar is guaranteed to be unusable, if it’s even visible at all. Eventually, I am unable to type anything in the text frame until I press an icon at the bottom of the screen resembling a keyboard. This icon then displays the “Insert Fields” bar in an enlarged format, which I cannot close. In summary, it seems clear that compatibility with iPadOS 18 is severely lacking, and version 2.6 cannot be released with such significant bugs and flaws. Quote
