dpiximaj Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Why is updating v2 such a pain. Each new update it installs a duplicate version. This time it's in Start menu link but can't trace to where? Can't access folders. And no add on filters - they're gone. I can only download the MSI package but I want the EXE package... to delete and start over. Man what a headache. Already deleted the original v2 so stuck with this for now... Quote
Ron P. Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 The MSI and EXE are the same installer. There's two types of installers. MSI/EXE The conventional means, installs to C:\Program Files on a Windows PC V1 Affinity apps used this installer MSIX Newer installer, known as Sandboxed. Installs to the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps The V2 apps use this, UNLESS you download the MSI/EXE installer, and install the apps from that one. DO NOT mix/match installers. If you're switching, do all of them, not just one or two of the apps. It causes problems when you try to mix the installers.
