Designer has become unreliable. In the last hour alone it has crashed 4 times (I'm doing some simple wireframing in the latest App Store version). What was a rock solid product has become, well, Adobe-esque. This isn't why I moved to Affinity a year ago, and spent the last year convincing designers to do the same.

I knew in my heart this would happen eventually. You've now more products, more features and another platform to support.

In the moment of a crash I'm angry. Then sad. I'm back where I was when I was using Photoshop.

Still a great Affinity team of lovely people. But in too much of a rush or spread too thin.

If you mean Mac v1.4.2, it remains very stable on my system. I have had only one crash since updating to that version, & it was a weird one: AD was hidden with no files open; AP 1.4.2 was opened in the foreground to a document; & another app (Canvas Draw 2 for Mac trial version) was also hidden with no files open. When I closed the AP document, about 30 seconds later I got a crash notice for AD. AP was unaffected.

Since I was having several recurring problems with Canvas Draw (app not responding, using enormous amounts of memory even with no doc open & the app hidden, very slow performance, etc.) I attributed this to that app not playing well with the others, but of course that is just a guess.

Anyway, that is the only crash I have seen with v1.4.2; certainly nothing like your multiple crashes in one hour. Have you done any troubleshooting to see if (for example) resetting the app helps, or if Disk Utility's First Aid check finds anything amiss with the file system?

I've noticed crashes happen for me when I'm editing a symbol on an artboard, and then move the symbol off the artboard (AF beta 4). I'm using El Capitan 10.11.5

The beta versions are not as stable as the retail ones, so it isn't too surprising that they may crash. What is a bit surprising is (if I understand you correctly) you are using an Affinity Photo beta that has expired.

When did it become unreliable?  Our last MAS update was a while ago now.

How about you give us a bug report, and we can address the reason for your crash.

Please don't also make assumptions that the quality is being compromised because we are being in some way stretched.  Our core team that developed the OSX versions are still the same guys as from the beginning.  The Windows part is being developed by a separate team.
