Hi,

I bought affinity photo 2 a few days ago, mainly as an alternative for digital painting in photoshop.
I thought the UI would be quite the same.
But as I tried to personalize my workspace, but I could not find a way to increase and the decrease of the brush size with a new shortcut.
Only with a slider, which is very annoying.
I am working on a macbook ( OS 15 ) with a German keyboard.
The pre-installed short cuts seem to square brackets, but this does work with my keyboard.

But even other ways to manage this, do not work, because the  entries for Increase Brush Size and decrease Brush Size do not exist in PreferencesKeyboard ShortcutsTools .
Do you have any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Markus

Welcome to the forums @MarkusG

This sounds like the problem mentioned here, and elsewhere: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/213908-move-to-back-ctrl-shift-doesnt-work-on-a-swedish-keyboard/

The problem has been logged with Serif.

The best current advice, I think, would seem to be to use different shortcuts for each tool where you need to increase/decrease the size of the brush via the keyboard.

Or you can try using F2 and F4 instead of “[“ and “]”.

This thread is a few months old, so the OP will probably not respond. I had the same problem (with a Swiss keyboard layout) and found the solution in this forum post:

It's actually very easy to change the shortcut for brush size. There are entries for all the brush tools in the shortcuts preferences. If you change the shortcut for brush size in one of them it will automatically be changed for all brush tools.
