Hi There,

It might sound weird but I never want to use a separate iPad app. Rather, I always need an iPad as a touch interface for the desktop file - usually for a few seconds to complete one task like drawing a line etc.

Sidecar/Duet offer instant access but provide a terrible touch interface for brushes and other tools you need.

Is there way to use Affinity Designer's tools/interface directly on the Desktop file rather than having to transfer the file, work on it, then transfer it back?

Hope that makes sense. Cheers, ben

I don't think so, but I have all of the apps on Windows, Mac and iPad and much prefer the iPad versions because of the Apple Pencil, since I store everything in iCloud I can easily open on the desktop without having to Transfer between devices then return to iPad just as easily.

Depending on which versions of Apple OS’s you are running: The latest iPadOS and MacOS can do this natively.  Check Mac OS Settings==> Displays ==> Advanced.  I’ve experimented with it, but not much practical experience.  I did not need a cable, so I guess it uses some combination WiFi/Bluetooth.  I was impressed with the ease and speed, but that’s a function of the equipment you have.  Apple Pencil works too.

Hope this helps…
