Paraisa Design
I tried to purchase both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer today based upon the special offers of $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. However the prices are not reflected correctly in the App Store. They are both selling for their full price. Is there some way of correcting this? I tried contacting Apple Support, but they referred me to the forum here. I could not find a contact link anywhere on the Affinity Serif website. Fixx
I have not heard other offers than Photo 39 $/€, normal price for both apps being 49 $/€.
Paraisa Design
Ah yes, it is according to country/currency. I hadn't noticed the website was UK based. When I clicked Buy Now, I was referred to Apple GB rather than Apple USA, hence the difference. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/ https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/Affinity_Photo/id824183456?mt=12&ign-mpt=uo%3D4
Staff TonyB Posted July 15, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 15, 2016 The website should guess your country/currency based on your location via your IP address. Where are you based?
Paraisa Design
In the States. I agree, most websites do detect location, but in this instance that does not appear to be the case. I just checked Serif's website again with two different browsers, and it still displays the prices in GBP. The website seems to be purely UK based and does not offer pricing alternatives for non-UK purchasers. It was my responsibility to check and verify. I was not paying proper attention and incorrectly assumed the prices were in dollars.
R C-R
If you are in the U.S. you should be able to open the Mac App Store from the Apple menu & find both Affinity apps on the "Featured" tab at the bottom of the window in the "Top Grossing" section. If not, click on the round flag icon below the Top Grossing section & choose the U.S. from the choices in the next window. You will need to be logged in with your Apple ID to buy the app(s) & have a U.S. based payment method associated with that Apple ID.
