My publisher file is very big / very huge size with no reason: 120 mb for 40 A3 pages, with few text and images (linked).

Why? How can I save more space? I have last V1 version.

I already tried the: save as, command several times.

Thank you.

First thing to check is whether or not you have the Save History with file turned on. Then you have to look see if there are any Adjustment layers which may be rasterizing an entire page or pages.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Did the 'Save As…' just overwrite the currently opened .afpub, – or save/overwrite a copy? To me in V1 a 'Save As…' to get rid of data trash within the .afpub works only if either saved with a separate name or with the same name but at another location.

first, thank you both! Answering to you:

- no adjustment layers (I should find it among layers, correct? For example increase/decrease brightness for some objetcs or page... I didn't use that).

- I saved a new copy with a different name, to avoid the overwright - in photos sometimes it does not work indeed.

Images - linked... are also very light. I really don't understand. Exported pdf is 50 mb indeed.

ps. DELETED two frames, saved... 200 mb. No sense.

This is indeed not helpful. But the problem has been known for years and Serif does not seem to be improving it, so a helpful solution is to use an available workaround only, not repeated complaints. Nobody seems to know what layout step exactly is causing a massive file size in some documents.

Two more workarounds you could try (they both don't work in every case) to reduce the document's file size:

• Close the affected document. Create a new document with same specs (colour, dimensions). Choose menu Document -> Add Pages From File… Once its imported save the new document.

In the Resource Manager toggle the Placement types (embedded/linked) for all items. Therefore you can sort the list by 'Placement' and select multiple items to toggle all selected at a time. I am sorry, can't remember if you need to "Save As…" after the first switch of all items or if it is sufficient or more useful to Save As only after the second toggling (to set them back to their initial state).

perhaps my English is not the best, so I don't get one sentence: in which sense not repeated complaints? Was this referred to me or a general consideration?

I tried the first method, it saved something (it was 230 mb) now it is 163 mb.
I don't get the second method, the part of toggle (I don't find it).

Thank you very much

If you want, it is no problem to write in your native language and leave the translation to the forum users' browser plugins.
It was general and also referred to your additional note "No sense." (which was actually known to the forum from your initial post / the generally known issue):
The second method for toggling "embedded" | "linked":
