I've read a few topics asking how to save a gradient for future use.

Not one simple answer has been given.

Why is there no way to simply save a gradient (as a file or by some other way) and to find it back for future use?

This could be a future improvement.

You can save them as swatches, just like with solid colors.

Create a swatch palette (an application palette to create it locally on the computer and reuse it across documents, or a document palette to save it with the document), make sure that the fill tool / gradient tool is not selected, and click the "Add current fill to palette" button to add the gradient to the palette, from which it can then be recalled with one click.

Thanks for the answer!

But I couldn't figure what a swatch palette is. I'm working (as a beginner!) on a French version of Affinity and don't know the translation in French.

Also, I want to learn how to create a swatch and/or a document palette. If anybody can help me? Thanks in advance!
