Vector Flood Tool - No new layers created

Hello, 

I have only started using Affinity recently.

I am using Affinity Designer 2.5.5 on a Mac running Sequoia V 15.1.1

When I use the Vector flood tool on a shape, such as an ellipse it does not create a new layer. I have attached a video.

Please can you help?

Welcome to the forums @Andrew Pratt

In the Context Toolbar, the one under the main Toolbar, your Fill Mode is set to “Smart Refill”, try changing it to “Add on top” instead.

In your example it's because your ellipse already has a fill colour (white), if it had no fill colour it would have created a new shape for you, as you were expecting it to do

Thank you, it was beacuse of the fill colour. That worked
