MikeTO Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Could you please describe what you mean by making a style from revised text? And what do you mean that a new style zaps existing revised text? Creating a TOC style does nothing but create another TOC style with the current TOC settings and switches the current TOC from its previous style to the new one. If your document has a single TOC, there is never a reason to create a new TOC style. Do you have more than one TOC? If not, you may be misunderstanding the purpose of a TOC style which is a set of TOC settings and TOC text styles which can be applied to a TOC. kat Posted November 23, 2024 Author Posted November 23, 2024 I want to create "TOC New" from current revised TOC 1 on the right side text block, font currently white. When I click Create New and hilite TOC 1 text, TOC 1 text is deleted from text block. I'd rather not edit the style everytime I make changes. I need 1 TOC white and 1 black. There was a nice man who knew all about new TOCs. English was his 2nd language, but I can't find his posts. It is incredibly rare to need to create a TOC style so I think you may be choosing the wrong option and misunderstanding what this feature does. Creating a new TOC Style does not create a second TOC and does not create new text styles - it creates a style that determines the entire appearance of one or more TOCs. To create a second TOC, create a text frame, position the cursor in it, and click Insert in the TOC panel. That will create a second TOC with a TOC style named TOC 2. If you want one TOC to be black and another to be white, then you can edit the TOC 2 text styles which will appear in the Text Styles panel when you click in TOC 2. kat 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
