Hello everybody,

I am a (French) jazz musician and a music teacher…

I made a book on Pages Mac (about jazz improvisation), and I would like to use Affinity publisher to format the content and publish it (sorry for my clumsy French English !).

How can I import text (from Pages Mac) ?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Michel Goldberg and welcome to the forums,

Probably the easiest way is to export your text as either a Word document, Plain text or Rich Text from Apple Pages... If you want to format the text using a blank canvas then Plain text would make sense. You can then set up Text Styles in Publisher and apply these as appropriate to your text once placed in your Publisher document...

Thank you…

But what is the process to import : I created a document but when I try to import an RTF document (made from Apple Pages), the files is greyed (no way to import it). Same for Docx.

I missed something probably.

Are there informations related to this topic (tutorial or so on) ?

All the best…

Once you've set up your Publisher document, create Master Pages and add linked text frames to the Master. Then on your Publication page with the Frame Text tool selected, mouse click inside the text frame on the first page, use File → Place and then select your text file...

You can download @MikeTO's free Unofficial Publisher Manual here... Page 84 covers Importing (Placing) text...
