🇬🇧 Hi, how to “quickly” extract a single path (here, the triangle) within a set constituting a Compound Path (the 4 geometric figures)?… If you have a solution, I am interested.

Currently (v2.5.5), we must duplicate the figure, then select with the direct pointer (white arrow) the unwanted elements and delete them: it is a somewhat restrictive solution.

🇫🇷 Bonjour, comment extraire “rapidement” un unique chemin (ici, le triangle) au sein d'un ensemble constituant un tracé Compound Path (les 4 figures géométriques) ?… Si vous avez une solution, je suis preneur.

Actuellement (v2.5.5), on doit dupliquer la figure, puis sélectionner avec le pointeur direct (flèche blanche) les éléments indésirables et les supprimer : c'est une solution un peu contraignante.

With the curves layer selected

Choose the knife tool and make a small cut in the centre of the triangle

This will extract the triangle to a new layer

Do not cut straight through the triangle or you will get 2 new shapes, just a small cut in the middle of it

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Hi @carl123, thank you for your solution: it works very well and saves a little time and handling. All you need to do is select and delete the newly created points. I would never have imagined this tip... 🙂
