I took 8 images panning from left to right. When I stitch a panorama, the middle image is used as the lead.

Result:

Expected:

image.jpeg.748baaed138e1ce2d5f39fbde6c150f5.jpeg

I tried renaming images 01-08fileName but got the same unwanted result.

Anyone know of a workaround?

Thanks.

Layer/ Live Projection/ Equirectangular Projection
Set FOV to 90°
Adjust the Heading slider as required
Click Centre Coordinate System
Layer/ Live Projection/ Remove Projection

Here's an example using your result image with Heading 270°

Thanks, David. I tried it on the stitched pano, and got it close to how I wanted pano to start and end. No way could I have fathomed how to use this feature without your hep! So no way to specify lead image?

Not that I know of. For 360°'s I tend to use Hugin as it does an excellent job of eliminating the final overlap but for say a 180° sweep I use Photo and it's fine
You could try doing 1-4, then 5-8, then panoing those 2 groups

I haven't tried but possibly the creation date/time defines the 'lead image', or even the modification date/time?

If that was true, first image taken would be the first one used to start the pano, and last taken to end the pano.

Panos fine as long as I use 6 images. When I add a 7th, it skews the pano. Doesn't matter if it's the first one taken, or the last one taken.

I just trialed PTGui and get same results (different set of images to above). You can see first image in the set is centred, and others wrapped around to start.

Yes, Hugin is similar however there is a feature that allows the panorama yaw, what Photo calls Heading, to be edited so it can start where you like. I'd expect that PTGui can do it too
