Christian M Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I have found a bug that can be reproduced. Here are the instructions… Create a new image with a width of 3183 px and a height of 4096 pixels. I don't know if the size matters. Then create a pixel layer and fill it with a color. I used the gradient tool. Then use the patch tool and mark an area as shown in the attached picture. Then move the patch slightly and rotate it as shown in the next attached picture. If you then tap anywhere on the image to finish the patch action, the app crashes. My guess is that the app gets stuck in an infinite loop when the patch tool is rotated partially outside the image. Some crash reports are attached. I am a big fan of the patch tool. It would be super handy if you had the option to choose between cloning and patching and if you could set the opacity. I use the patch tool from the Fotogenic app regularly. This is really great and offers many possibilities. Unfortunately, the brush size there is too big to be able to work in small areas. Staff NathanC Posted December 4, 2024 Staff Posted December 4, 2024 Hi @Christian Mueller, Apologies for the late reply. I've not been able to reproduce a crash following these steps, but I can get the app to freeze for incredibly long durations following the rotate + tap, some of which it didn't recover from. The crash may relate to the app running out of memory, so I've logged this with the developers and provided your crash reports. Quote
Christian M Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 Hi @NathanC Thank you for your reply. Yes, the app freezes for a very long time and never recovers. I know this iPad is not the fastest, but for it to take so long seems strange to me. Thanks for passing it on to your team. Is there any way to ask for new features? I think with a few tweaks the patch tool could be enhanced greatly. Quote

We have a dedicated feedback section of the forums which I've linked below. 🙂 https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/52-feedback-suggestions/ Quote
