delpi767 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Numerous crashes with this version. Can't pinpoint a specific action that causes them. Probably more crashes than for the entire rest of the year. Nothing has changed with this computer. Sorry I can't be specific but something has definitely changed. Quote

Simply reporting that you have had numerous crashes doesn’t give the developers (or anyone else) anything to go on to try and find what the cause(s) might be or how to fix anything. If you can give some information about what you were doing at the time and what you were doing it to then that might be a start, but without more information there’s not much that anyone can do. Also, if you are using the beta and if the crash was specific to something you were testing in the beta, then the crash should be reported in the relevant beta section of the forums rather than here. delpi767 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 I disagree. I understand your point that if I could say X,Y,Z always causes this problem, that would be very helpful to the developers. But that would only allow them to research a specific problem. That's fine if a problem can be pinpointed but that is not always the case with stability issues and the developers need to know if there are general stability issues. If there are numerous non-specific posts regarding random crashes that in itself provides a clue especially when the problem only occurs in the very latest beta. That says some recent change has caused stability issues. I don't expect the developers to respond only to my post, but if they get numerous posts regarding general stability issues in the latest beta that provides a clue that something in the last build almost certainly caused the problem. I've been writing software for 45+ years and I know that is is entirely possible some some seemingly innocuous change can cause a myriad on issues. Westerwälder 1 Quote

Staff EmT Posted November 25, 2024 Staff Posted November 25, 2024 Hi @delpi767 Without more information it will be difficult to look into what is causing your specific crash. Can you provide a crash report or a screen recording of the issue in action? Or can you give us a rough recipe of what you are doing when the crash occurs or let us know if its on a specific file.
