How can I blur (Gaussian Blur) an object in Designer?

I realise that I have to go to the Pixel persona, but even then I can only find a Blur Brush and that does not work well.

I want to blur lines, objects, but also how can I blur a mask.

Blurring is such a basic and important tool, that I am surprised not to find it in the Adjustment Layers.

PS. I selected this forum ("Affinity on Desktop Questions") because I cannot find a forum that seemed more to the point for my question.

Where should I have placed my question?

In general...

Questions about logins, web/application accounts, payments, licencing, refunds, ‘unusual’ installation requirements, and other things that are best handled only by a Serif staff member should be posted in the “Customer Service, Accounts and Purchasing” section of the forums.

Questions that are only about the beta software should be posted in the relevant “Beta Software Forums” section of the forums.

All other questions should be posted in the appropriate “Affinity Support & Questions” section of the forums:

  • Questions about the desktop software should be posted in the “Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)” section.
  • Questions about the iPad software should be posted in the “Affinity on iPad Questions” section.

So, if you are using the desktop software, you have posted in the correct place.

(Even if you post in the wrong place, a moderator can move the thread to the correct section for you, if they notice that it’s in the wrong place.)
