Affinity Photo on Mac Sequoia - While I can use brackets or drag bar to change tool sizes (clone etc) I can no longer see the circular sizing zone on the layer itself? Maybe I have accidentally switched off a toggle?

Any help would be appreciated. I have reinstalled to Affinity Photo 2.5

If caps-lock is on all you will see are cross hairs

thanks - however I can see the cross hairs with and without cap locks but no sizing circle - while I can see the tool itself changing size as I press the caps (by seeing the slider move). I just don't see any visual expression of that on the layer...

What is the width of the tool & the document zoom level? If the tool width is very small & you have not zoomed in far enough to see its extent, you will just get the crosshair.

So maybe try selecting the tool & zoom in very far to see if the circle appears at some point.

Thanks- I have zoomed the tool from 1-1000+pixels and no circle appears (used against black, grey and white layer backgrounds) I can detect the tool itself - for example an eraser at a reduced opacity appears as an expanding blur as I change the tool size but no encompassing circle to act as a more visual guide.

I'm not sure what you mean by "zoomed the tool" because I am talking about zooming the document view. The Eraser tool can be set to various widths, so please try setting it to a large size, say 1/3 the width of the document. It would also help if you could post an example file showing the document size & the brush you are using, set to that size.
