Since there are two colors in the Foreground and the Background, is there a quick way to toggle the two colors when using various tools?

I was hoping that something like left-click/right-click, or a modifier key would do that, but I didn't find anything other than go back to the Color Window everytime.

Is there a quicker way?

One thing I notice, while using the X key is that if I do a continuous brush stroke with a ROUND brush, when I do press the X to toggle color, it makes a SQUARE transition between the two. Is that normal?

If you mean pressing the X key while you are painting with a round brush preset, then for me the X is ignored -- there is no change in color or brush type. If you mean pressing the X before or after you paint with a round brush, then for me it works as expected -- there is no change in the brush shape.

I tested this in AP version 2.5.5 on my Mac. What version & OS are you using?

No, I mean to press it repeatedly WHILE I am brushing continuously.

OK. As best as I can tell that doesn't seem to happen in the Mac version so maybe another Windows user can test this & see if they get the same results.

@CaroleA

I get the same square brush when changing the foreground/background color using the X shortcut. Is it a bug? I don't know, Serif will have to determine that.

If you're wanting to change the color or Hue more seamlessly, press on the More button in the context toolbar while having a brush selected. Then go to the Dynamics tab. Toward the bottom adjust the Hue, Saturation, and Luminance Jitter. It's not perfect, as you can't really control the exact Hue or colors, but it's a little closer to what I think you're wanting to do.

Thanks @Ron P.. I just wanted to know how to toggle the two. The square vs round brush tip was only something I noticed accidentally.  I also wondered if it was supposed to work like that or if it might be a bug worth reporting.
