I'm exporting to PDF from Affinity Publisher. An otherwise transparent vector image layer is reducing the font weight of the page text frame. This is only visible on PDF export. The page displays correctly in Publisher, and if you export to other formats such as PNG.

You can see the change here, which coincides with the border of the image layer, cutting right through the middle of the "material" word:

Am I doing something wrong?

The problem seems to be caused somewhere in the root-level “Stars” layer as setting its Visibility OFF prior to export makes the problem go away.

Setting the Visibility of the Invert Adjustment layers in the child groups of that layer to OFF also makes the problem go away. But then adding a new Invert Adjustment layer to the root-level “Stars” layer make the problem come back

Setting the Fill colour of the layers in the Stars layers to white (with no Adjustments) makes the problem go away.

So I’m guessing that it’s the Invert Adjustment which is causing the problem in some way.

P.S. You might have more Layer (capital “L”) layers than you need, but I don’t know how you want your document to be organised. (You don’t need to create a Layer layer to put other layers in the document unless you need the special things that a Layer layer can give you.)

Thanks, as you said, the Invert Adjustment was causing weird issues, a possible bug? Instead of inverting the black illustration layers, I just set the fill to white, and that seemed to resolve the issue.

Interestingly, after releasing all of the Groups from the Layer layers, switching the individual Visibilities ON/OFF makes different areas of the text change.

However, after doing that and setting the Blend Modes of the Groups to Normal (rather than Passthrough), it all looks okay to me.

I’m not sure if I would go so far as to say it was a bug, yet, but I'm not sure if it's what I would expect to happen.

Hi @rgladwell,

Can you please confirm where you installed the Lekton font from is it for Google fonts or another font site as when this font is substituted with Ariel the PDF exports the text correctly for the whole paragraph.
