Affinity Publisher v2.5.5

I often need to scan in pictures and text into a document I'm creating.
I am surprised and disappointed that after 10yrs of being able to do this using Serif PagePlus software that Publisher does not have this facility. At least I can't find it !
 If it has, and I'm not looking in the right place, I'd be delighted if someone can point me in the right direction.
If Publisher has not got this facility do I need to buy a different Affinity program?

The Windows versions of the Affinity applications cannot scan directly but the macOS versions can because they use functionality which is supplied by the OS.

If you still have PagePlus functional, and scanning in it worked well for you, continue to use it for these purposes.
