Are there any plans to improve the Affinity Photo Layer Window layout in the near future?

im begging you... especially the layer window but the UI in general

there is limited customization options, but we need more.

its very difficult to differentiate between grouped layers when you have lots of groups/layers

extend group color to the entire group name, not just a tiny thin block on the right

increase the offset when layers are grouped/clipped

Such requests come up quite frequently in the forums.

There are many other similar threads, but that one clearly shows that:

• changing things like this can be fraught with problems;
• what’s wanted by one person may not be wanted by another;
• there’s no ‘best’ way to suit everyone.

Thanks for the link. I understand many wont like it, but its just a suggestion

In the end, the best way to suit EVERYONE is to just give us more options to customize atleast.

Blender is a good example of vast customization options, so you can set it up they way YOU want it

There has to be room for improvement. the nesting indicators or offset was better in V1, and taken away in V2... so im sure its not impossible.

adding a choice of "small nesting offset" and "large nesting offset" to the User Interface window would be a great start in my opinion

that way nobody gets offended

One of the most ‘popular’ themes for suggestions in the forums is for more UI customisation – panel layout changes, text sizes, text colours/tones, icon sizes, icon changes, more sticky defaults, more keyboard shortcuts, etc.

If you look at the amount of suggestions that “would be a great start”, or ‘if only this one thing were changed’ you will see that Serif would have to implement a great many things at the same time. Otherwise they would have (and have had, many times) people complaining that their personal ‘need’ wasn’t implemented before someone else’s personal ‘need’ because they asked for it first.

All we can do is make suggestions and wait to see if Serif do anything about them.

I fully understand.

BUT leaving it the way it is and simply not doing anything about it isnt the way.

Slowly rolling out options to "try something like this" or "keep it like it was" would be cool and useful to you guys going forward
