multi Poster: Flash Gordon (1930s)

Drawn in Designer, all vectors and assembled in Publisher. I have never used vectors to do anything close to portrait so it was a challenge. Flash took several tries just to get it where it is now.

Love it. Whether or not you choose to refine it, it stands pretty strong. Can't suggest anything for I've never attempted art like this. Kudos for using Publisher (I love Affinity but especially Publisher).

Thank you so much. It was a big challenge for me and i would suggest giving it a try. I think doing it in black and white might be cheating but one step at a time. I still see many issues with Flash but i like the overall composition and I love Publisher especially with the studio like feature added. IT makes creating stuff so much more fluid than other software.

I agree about the "fluidity" 100%. I think the black and white works rather well as it reminds me of sepia type posters. Metropolis comes to mind. If you can achieve success in black and white then you know a color version will work. Not always true the other way around.

That is true, I often do an entire illustration in black and white and “colourize” it at the end when all the values and contrasts look right. I dont feel ready for a full colour portrait in designer yet.

And Ming! In the '50's, I couldn't wait to get home from school to see how Flash got out of the last predicament.
