Again!!?!! update macOS to sequoia  v15.1 and the thumbnails AP do not show up! only the AP logo. Again!!  This is demented!!!

Restart Finder or reboot your Mac and the issue should resolve itself. I had the issue after updating to 15.1 but it resolved itself after another reboot.

I have the same problem and we are becoming behind on our work. This is a big issue. Serif is not responding. Rebooting Finder is not the fix.

Here is my email to Serif yesterday:

Affinity Photo Customer Service,

As you are aware, there is an issue with the Affinity Photo previews with the application PeakTo on OS Sequoia 15.1, as you can see from the attached image. Note that this is showing the icons from within the application PeakTo. With the Beta 2.6.0 build 2861, the previews work from within Finder but not from within PeakTo. This is becoming more of a problem with us, our workflow and our clients.

Can you think of any way that this can be resolved? “

No improvements for me. The icons still not showing. Terrible.

Hi @srg,
Go to Apple > System Settings and select the General section on the left side. Then, find the Login Items & Extensions section on the right side and scroll down to the Extensions section. Click the Info ("i") icon next to QuickLook and enable both extensions for each Affinity app. After doing this, restart your computer; you should then see the thumbnails (icons). Let me know if not.

Did it. Thanks. But why only on AP I have to do this? and why not yes full thumbnails?

This didn't work for me: only one item in that Quicklook panel (called 'Tips'). This with Affinity Photo 2.5.5 & MacOS 15.1.1

I’ve been in contact with several people at Serif about this issue. They are not responsive at all. Another company, CYME, has verified that the issue is in the Serif coding.

I assume that either Serif does not know how to fix the problem (which relates to implementing the thumbnail extension as per Apple), or it is more bureaucratic in that they will get to it in weeks or months.

Serif has already fixed the problem in the 2.6 beta but there is a 2.5.6 coming first. Please see the recent update from Serif.

Actually, that is not correct. I have the latest Beta build 2861 and the issue still exists. The thumbnails are not properly created such that they work in Finder but not in other apps. So, it is partially fixed.

I downloaded Photo Beta 2.6.0 (2861) which came with some Quick Look files that needed to be installed.

After installing these the images show correctly in the Beta version. But I was surprised to see these files work with Photo 2.5.5, so I can see all the image icons correctly, without having to work in the beta version. That looks like the solution until Affinity release 2.6.

That's correct, installing the Quick Look extensions works for all Affinity files, even those for earlier versions.

But Serif has stated that there will be a 2.5.6 as soon as testing is complete since 2.6 is still under development.

What if the Affinity Suite is not showing in the QuickLook list?
