Artboard selection

On my Mac in designer , If I select a object and then add an artboard designer asks if it the whole screen or the selection, I click selection and all is OK, but every time it defaults to the whole screen, if. I use it on windows it remembers my last choice, it’s very frustrating.

is there a way to set artboard to be selection as default, I have spent ages looking and cannot find a solution, and why does this work OK on windows but not on the Mac.

Hopefully someone can help.

Yes, there have been dozens, maybe even hundreds of requests for many years - for applications to remember the user's last choice. Unfortunately, Serif approaches these requests and comments very laxly and unsystematically - sometimes they fix something, yes on one platform, no on another platform, other times they simply ignore the requests...
