I have been using FOGRA39 colour profile but my book printer wants me to use GRACol  2006 and sent me a download I cannot find a way to import this into Affinity Publisher  -my library does not seem to have anywhere to store the file. Are the result likely to be wildly out ? This is a local history book so accuracy is not essential in some parts.

What OS are you using? Also, what is the filetype extension of the file that your printer sent to you?

@gascoyneone On Mac Ventura, ~/Library/Colorsync/Profiles. Copy and paste your ICC profile to that folder and it should show up. I've actually used this very profile on press jobs and it shows up fine in Affinity Apps. You may need to close and restart the Affinity Apps for it to be available.

Or copy it to the top level /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder if you want it available to all users.

Well, try a search for *.ICC or Profiles, or something. Those ICC profiles have to be stored somewhere in your system. Perhaps a hidden folder?

I only have ColorPickers and Colors folders in my Library no sign of Colorsync sadly.

By default, user level Library folders (the ones with the ~ prefix) are hidden. So to see what's in one of them you can use the Finder > Go > Go to Folder menu item & type into it ~/Library/Colorsync/ & press Go to open it.

But if you use an admin user account you should still be able to see the root level Library folder (at path Macintosh > Library), so if there is a ColorSync folder there you should be able to open it & drag the profile into it.
