LarryOB Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Affinity folks.... I am really positively surpriced... many of my requests were implemented in Affinity 2.0 and I am hopefull that my surgestions again will be implemente so that I will be able to take full advantage of the Affinity suite in the future. Importing Photoshop plugins like feathers etc. will make it easy to transfer to Affinity using the same plugins as in Adobe products, thanks. Importing, being able to open and edit DWG drawings is a great plus, that make it possible for me to edit Autodesk 2D drawings and send off drawing editions without the need to buy, learn and work in Autodesk or similar heavy Cad products. Then there were some default settings that I didnt get which caused a great deal of problems for me... when batch prosessing photos the default is not to make a new folder with the new photoes, instead it is to overwrite the original photoes. It can cause ALOT of problems if you are in a rush, stressed out and tired and accidently overwrite an uniqe set of original photoes with a photo that didnt have the correct proportions for instance… I made a small list of my top picks, that I really miss a good product or tool for: 1. Filled pdf forms, with the choise of exact size and kind of type font used 2. Ability to import Scribus files 3. Redactions to PDFs 4. Ability to write DWG files in a Autocad 2000 format or something that Autocad can read. 5. Ability to make and offsett lines in exact distances, in Designer.. strange to me that there isnt any exact tools, to make precise distances, it really makes a difference making logos on signs at a certain size … 6. Custom setup dont overwrite original files that are easily irreplaceble And maybe the biggest whish is a PDF reader that just works fast, smooth, intuitively without popups that wants you to pay a steep fee every day to be able to access a pdf reader that doesnt really work that well. But instead a pdf reader where you can take pages in and out of a pdf document set, and easily preview files before opening. A bit like apples Preview for macs, which they didnt feel should be on their ipad pros for some galaxial reason… which of course isnt awailable for windows users. Lets say an apple mbp preview, that also lets you redact files no matter what platform you are using, windows or ipad os. Make fillable forms, remove/set in / replace pages and redact pdf documents (I think this is a possibility on newer systems of mac preview, but not on ipad pros, nor older mac systems). I hope you can implement some of my imput in futher updates or releases, or maybe even launch a platform independent Affinity Preview for pdf files with a couple of tricks up its sleve. Preview and Acrobat and lots of less great actors hasnt improved the work with pdfs for years on end, it could be time a serious actor got on that playing field Thanks so far for creating great and usefull software.
